How much did you lose (pounds, body fat)?
Over the past 6 months, I have found a love for weight training and pushing my body to places I never could have imagined or could have done myself. At 46 years old, I am honestly in the best shape of my life and feel amazing. I achieved my 30 lb. weight loss, but along the way, I also lost 12% body fat. I am motivated to get this number into the single digits before the summer of 2019 and feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet Bud as he truly changed my life.
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I moved back to Washington in early 2018 and found myself the heaviest I’ve ever weighed coming in over 210 lbs. I was eating whatever I wanted and “working out” for 30 minutes on an elliptical 4-5 days a week. I really never entertained lifting weights as I just didn’t know what to do.
My “ah ha” Moment came in late April 2018 as I drove home from a Walla Walla wine tasting weekend. I saw pictures of myself and couldn’t believe how out of shape I was. As I drove home I told myself that starting in May, I would get serious. We live close to the Energy gym so I asked my wife if she would be interested in doing some personal training there. She agreed and off we went to meet with Zach. We signed up and I was very nervous not knowing what to expect. My goal was simply to lose weight and I wasn’t even considering body fat loss or really anything else.
Needless to say, my first few workouts were embarrassing as I could barely do 5 push ups, but Bud was an incredible support and helped every single day. After a week or so, I decided that I better get serious about my food or this working out stuff wasn’t going to fully work. Bud gave me some very simple options which I stuck with almost every day for the following 6 months.
